Mydentist: Declan complains to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman about the service he has received from Europe's largest dental care provider (NHS England complaint CAS-286977)

Last week, on 11 April, Declan complained to National Health Service (NHS) England about the service he received on 1 March from Mydentist, Europe's largest dental care provider. He copied the CEO of NHS England, Simon Stevens, into the complaint (NHS England complaint CAS-286977). Following his receipt of Mydentist's response in this morning's post, he has requested that the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman investigate the handling of his complaint, including the failure of Mydentist to deal with his complaint in a timely manner.

Update 6 May: By letter dated 5 May (marked "Private and Confidential"), Mydentist has requested that Declan return to the Practice (Mydentist Plaistow Road) so that they can try and resolve the mistake with the service he received on 1 March. The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) responded on 27 April requesting that the Practice be given another chance to respond to his complaint and put right any mistakes (PHSO complaint C2015777). "Often this is the quickest way for issues to be resolved," writes the PHSO. They will only consider Declan's complaint after MyDentist has been given another bite at the cherry, so to speak.
